Optus has announced that they will be rolling out 4G mobile services next year as the trial of the 4g begins. Utilising an old analog frequency for testing the network, Optus Chief Executive Paul O'Sullivan announced that Optus expects to start offering the 4G services in Newcastle for April 2012, with Sydney, Melbourne and Perth coming later that year.

Samsung Australia came to an agreement with Apple to suspend the sale of the Galaxy Tab until the lawsuits that Apple has filled in regards to patent copyright infringement. Apple is currently seeking an unspecified amount of damages and an order preventing Samsung from using the technologies that Apple has the patents for.
